STEP Up (Students Together in Education Prevention) is about the promotion of student mental health. It’s about the entire Ohlone College campus community supporting each other—and the health and academic success of our students. It’s about reducing stigma associated with mental health and encouraging help when help is needed.
Most recent ACHA/NCHA data revealed that at Ohlone College:
- Nearly 10% of students reported having considered suicide in the last 12 months
- About 1 in 7 students reported feeling “hopeless” in the last 30 days
- Asking for help is a sign of strength – 74% of Students reported that they would seek mental health services if needed
We are here for you – student leaders, staff and faculty of Ohlone College. We care about you and your academic, physical, mental, and social well-being.
