At STEP Up Ohlone, our goal is to get the word out about the importance of integrating mental health into the discussion of what it means to be a healthy person overall. We are working to remove the shame and stigma around what it means to suffer with and seek treatment for depression, anxiety, and other emotional and mental health conditions. We strive to bring the topic of suicide out of the shadows where we can see it and talk about it. And reduce its power. The Monitor is a great resource in helping us tell these stories. The April 23, 2015 issue contains in-depth coverage about our work’s impact on campus. Read it here.
