“State mental health act a model for U.S.”-SF Gate

In light of the recent tragedy in Newtown, CT, there have been recent efforts to increase visibility of the need to have mental health services in the US. California is acting as a model for the rest of the country; Proposition 63, passed in 2004, allocates funding for mental health services in California. The author of Prop.63, state Senate Pro Tem President Darrell Steinberg, has written to Vice President Joe Biden to propose a similar piece of legislation for the US.
